Periodontics is a highly specialised field addressing gum needs.
The simplest treatment is prevention, and that's what the team here at Cambridge sepcialists focuses on. Dental hygiene begins with an assessment and evaluation of periodontal tissue (gums) by your general dentist. If he feels it is a complex problem, he will ask you to see a specialised periodontist.
Either your general dentist or your periodontist will then assess your periodontal condition and tell you what steps are needed to restore your gums to health. This may include the removal of tartar, plaque and discoloration, as well as the use of agents to prevent tooth decay.
Generally, this can be done by our team of dental hygienists. This treatment also includes home care specifically tailored to the individual patient.
If you are undergoing dental or cosmetic treatment, a revised home care routine will be created for you and monitored throughout the course of treatment to ensure the best possible outcome.
